Light Gauge Steel Frame at Calton Road in Edinburgh.

One of the major benefits of light gauge steel frame (lgsf) is the ability to work in extremely tight city centre sites, just like this recent example on Calton Road in Edinburgh.

The very nature of offsite manufacture and pre-panelised walls means less delivery vehicles are required to site providing a reduction in CO2 as compared with more traditional builds, reducing the carbon footprint. Less traffic in city centres can only be a good thing.

Working with a great project team within Etive Consulting Engineers Limited and Morgan Architects Ltd our VeitchiFrame and Veitchi Interiors team completed the 5 storey voestalpine Metsec plc #Metframe structure earlier this year. We’re looking forward to the next one!

Some of the best projects have little surprises and this spectacular view of Arthur’s Seat and the city skyline is one of them! A nice bonus for our team as the building begins to rise out of the shadows of the neighbouring properties.
