Veitchi Frame is proud to share the success story of our latest project – the Extra Care Facility in Workington. Commissioned by Atkinsons following the triumph of our care home project in Penrith, this venture exemplifies our commitment to creating spaces that enhance lives.

Project Overview:

The Workington Extra Care Facility stands tall as a 3-storey structure, spanning an impressive 7,600m2. Designed to provide essential living spaces, it encompasses 79 extra care housing apartments, complete with communal facilities areas.

Engineering Marvel:

Executing a project of this scale involves intricate engineering and meticulous planning. With concrete pouring over two days for each level due to the vast floor area, a staggering 730 tonnes of concrete per floor were expertly placed, forming the robust foundation of this exceptional facility.

Veitchi Frame’s contribution to the structure includes 176 tonnes of cold-rolled steel and 53 tonnes of hot-rolled steel, integrating seamlessly to ensure structural integrity and longevity.

Timeline and Progress:

Commencing onsite activities in May 2023, our dedicated team is rigorously working to deliver this project on schedule, with completion expected in August 2023. The adherence to timelines reflects our commitment to efficiency without compromising the quality that defines Veitchi Frame.
